Approval for purchase by Preferred Care will be based on the Primary Care Physician or specialist referral, diagnosis, and medical necessity. Preferred Care would also require that the member have initial supervision and appropriate monitoring of continued equipment use and clinical progress.

Dear Mr. Johnston,
I have been working with your stretching harnesses for well over a year now. This stretching harness system has become an integral part of my practice, since I am dealing a great deal with complex knee reconstructions and total knee replacements. In both these conditions many of our patients end up with a relative degree of stiffness, and your harness systems have been extremely helpful in alleviating their stiffness and getting our patients back to a satisfactory functional level much sooner. There have been some cases where stiffness has been so recalcitrant and frustrating that I have in essence given up, but the harness has been an excellent device, even in these very difficult situations.
I would encourage you to continue to market this device on a very broad basis and make it available to all of our patients. Billing has been difficult for some of our patients, and it would be good if this type of device would be included under insurance such as Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Blue Choice, and Preferred and another HMOs.
